TDA2030 audio amplifier

TDA2030 IC. It has good input sensitivity, low distortion, good operating stability and full protection against overloads and output short-circuits. It can be used as a booster amplifier for existing small systems or to drive a second pair of speakers besides the ones already connected to the system.

How to know TDA 2030 IC is good or bad using multi meter.

  1. Set continuity mode.
  2. Connect postie terminal  (red prob) to point A or pin 3.
  3. Use negative terminal (black prob) to test from pin 1 to 5.

    TDA 2030 IC is good if;

  1. Pin 1 and 2 give near by the same value eg (pin 1=728, pin 2=732)
  2. pin 4 and 5 give near by the same value eg (pin 4=520, pin 5=525)

    TDA 2030 IC is bad if;

  1. Pin 1, 2 , 4 or 5 give continuity or no reading.  

TDA2030 is a monolithic integrated circuit in Pentawatt package, intended for use as a low frequency class AB amplifier. It provides 14W output power (d = 0.5%) at 14V/4Ω at ± 14V or 28V, the guaranteed output power is 12W on a 4Ω load or 8W on a 8Ω

TDA 2030 audio amplifier can output 20 W but in this schematic we have reduced the power to 10W and we use 10w speakers.

TDA2030 can work with the range of voltage between 9 V to 24 V with total harmonic distortion of 0.08. It has the ability to deliver the output of 18 W.

In this project we are going to design a Subwoofer Amplifier Circuit Using IC TDA2030 with few cheap components. This TDA2030 Amplifier can produce 14watt output and this can be increased upto 30watt by using another TDA2030.
